Echo Dot – 3rd Gen Vs 4th Gen

The Amazon Echo Dot comes in two generations: the 3rd GEN and the 4TH GEN. Both have the same size, and sound quality, as Alexa, but the fourth GEN adds a clock. Although the Dot with Clock is 10g heavier, you may find the regular Dot to be a better value for the money. In general, these devices are almost identical and there’s no difference in their capabilities and price.

The Amazon Echo (4th GEN) is better than the 3RD GEN in many ways. In addition to adding smart home hub functionality, the fourth-gen also looks and sounds better than its predecessor. If you have both versions of the Echo, you can use them in separate rooms and still get the best possible experience. These devices will also play well together. If you’re looking for a new smart speaker, the 4th GEN is a great choice.

Among the most notable differences between the two Echo Dots is their shapes. The 3rd gen is similar to its predecessors in shape, with a fabric outer layer and a slightly curved top. It has a circular LED ring, similar to the one on the 3rd gen, but without the embedded clock. As a result, it’s a bit less in your face than the 3rd gen, but it still retains its 3.5mm line out and is not a line-in device.

When it comes to sound quality, the fourth GEN Echo Dot is more powerful than its predecessor, with more detailed sound and clearer vocals. Both speakers can also control other smart home devices such as lights and thermostats. You’ll find it easier to use the 4th gen Echo Dot in your home when compared to the 3rd GEN. The older model is cheaper now too, so you’re better off buying the older one if you can’t decide on the best one for your needs.
