    What is a Bhavans?

    There are three types of Bhavans in India: hill stations, lawless areas and rural areas. While most hill stations are under the direct rule of the state, some are also under the administration of other union territories. The word bhawpuri (Bhava: village) is used to identify these three types of Urdughr bhavans.

    What is a Vanchi Phani?

    Bhavas are a type of village in the Vanchi Phani sub-district of Tinsulah, western Ghats. The word ‘vanchi’ means ‘from a rich farmers’ estate’, which can be found in a number of places in western Ghats. The term also appears in several words in other parts of the country such as, ‘from a rich agricultural estate’, ‘from a large estate’, ‘from a powerful landlord’ and so on. Vanchi Phaniis the most spoken language in western Ghats. Vanchi Phani is a ‘Bengali-like’ language which means ‘bengali’ in Punjabi’s naming filmik.

    In bhojpuri, the word ‘bhojipuri’ means ‘Bengali-like’. The word ‘bhoja’ literally means ‘eat through’ and ‘puri’ means ‘open’. In bhojpuri, the opening syllable of the word ‘puri’ is ‘i’ so, ‘Bhavangari’ (Bhavangari Estate) is called ‘Bhavangari’puri’. The word ‘puri’ means ‘open’.
